This is the first time since I've had the task of writing about myself in any way. Heck, I don't recall writing anything at all besides checks for bills anytime in the last seven years. Anyway, I guess I should start with the origins of my love and understanding of music.

I come from a musical family. My dad played baritone sax and sings. My mother sings and plays the piano. Both of my sisters were in band and orchestra when they were youths. And, both of my older brothers are living in Columbus currently performing music professionally. It's only natural I suppose, that I follow in my family's footsteps. However, the steps that I chose to follow most belonged to my brother Steve. Steve and I had, and still have, a particularly close relationship. When I saw hime get his first set of drums, I wanted to be a lot like him and be a drummer as well. The feeling stuck with me and I joined band as a youth. I soon became my own drummer, bought my own drumkit when I was seventeen, and the next thing you know I moved to Columbus and have been playing music professionally for the last six or seven years.

So, you might ask, what music have you been performing professionally for the last six or seven years. Well, I came to Columbus in '92 to attend OSU. That didn't last long however, and at the end of '93, I joined a local psychadelic group named "Local Color". While still in Local Color, I started, with the help of a guitarist buddy of mine, a blues and R&B group called "Action Jackson and the Biggunz" in '96. Within the year, I also joined an original rock group named "Grampa Fatty" and jammed for awhile with local artist Stephanie Jeffries. Also, while all of that was happening, I somehow found time to record a Christian record and do some commercial work for BankOne. By the time 1998 rolled around, I found myself feeling a little burnt. I wanted to get out of the local scene and start looking down the road for something else. I didn't know what to do however, so at the beginning of 1999, I quit everything. In the spring of '99 I was approached by Mike and was asked to join The Shantee. I had known Mike for a few years and had heard The Shantee several times so I gave it a shot. Now, here I am, enjoying myself in this wonderful, new situation.
